    Trailing stop

I realize this question has probably been answered on here, but I'm in a bit of a time crunch. I'll keep it simple. I know where to modify my trailing stops in NT, but i'm not sure of the terminology. I need to no how to modify these things and what they are called in NT so I know how to modify them.

I would like to set a specific profit point that one its reached, the stop loss automatically moves up to that level at executes once if it drops down to it. e.g. I set it for 4 ticks and the market goes up 6 ticks, an then drops back down to 4 and my stop is executed. What is this called?

I would also like to set an interval at which the stop moves. e.g. every 2 ticks my stop is placed 2 ticks higher, so my profit is locked in that much higher. Is this whats called frequency?

I realize these are easy questions, but I tried yesterday to set it up and it didn't work. Thanks for the help, and once again sorry for asking a question that , if i had some more time right now, I could have found via search.

    Hi,

The first example you mention is a trailing stop, the stop loss would need to be set to 4, the profit trigger is the target that will bring the stop loss to the desired point and the frequency is how often your stop would move to 4 ticks behind.

We do not have exact names for these methods, but they do need to be set up in certain ways, the 2nd example you mention would need to be set up as follows:

    Stop Loss: 2

    Frequency: 2

Profit Trigger: when you would like these steps to trigger.

We also have a very helpful video in our help guide regarding trailing stops.
