    Importing data from NT

    Chelsea,
    I am honored to be hearing from such an authority on NinjaTrader software.
    I am trying to figure out how to programmatically download from NinjaTrader the number of active contracts into my program. I have a feeling, however, that this is not possible so I am trying to get buy without it.

    Hello sdruleyx,

    Can you clarify which value of contracts you are looking for?

    Are you asking how to find how many contracts you are in a position?

    You can find this on the Positions tab of the Control Center.

    Are you asking about volume, such as daily volume or the current ask and bid volume?

    You can find the daily volume as a column of Market Analyzer.
    • File -> New -> Market Analyzer
    • Right-click the Market Analyzer -> select Columns -> select Daily Volume -> click the New button -> click OK
    • Right-click the market Analyzer again -> select Add Instrument... to add an instrument

    The current bid and ask volume can be found on Chart Trader, on the SuperDOM, or in the Level II window.

    Getting # of Active Contracts from ver7

    As a NinjaTrader partner, I am running a standalone trading package called Rainbow that promotes NinjaTrader and submits trades automatically to your system by programmatically clicking the correct NinjaTrader trading panel buttons on my screen.
    There is, however, one piece of information that I need from NinjaTrader and that is the current number of contracts. Is there a plug in or applet out there that could provide this information without going through a full interface design and implementation?
