Stop strategy bug?

Hi

I am evaluating NT at the moment, but I'm having problems with the ATM and stop strategy set ups.

I wonder if there is a bug n the stop strategy set up.

I am using the latest version of NT (6.5.1000.5)

I want to create an ATM and stop strategy based on price ie:

1) Set initial stop loss $1.0 below the long limit price executed
2) Once price has advanced $0.5, set trailing stop loss to break even
3) Once $0.75 profit has been achieved set trailing stop loss to $0.5

I right clicked on ATM strat field to set properties to price. This means that I can now add values of $0.5 in the stop loss and profit target fields on the Basic Entry form.

I also right clicked on the stop strategy field to set that parameter type to price and then clicked the default button.

However when I create a custom stop strategy, the auto breakeven profit trigger only accepts ticks and has ticks in the title. The auto trail values only accept tick values too, not currency amounts.

If this isn't a bug, what am I doing wrong?

Many thanks for your help.

I tried that, but I don't think it worked as I bought at 20.81 and the NT setup stopped me out at 20.94 (in Sim mode)

I really hope Stop strategies can work reliably as they are far superior in this regard to TWS bracket orders.

I also tested a more simple strategy:

Set stop loss to 0.5 and profit target to 0.25 with no stop strategy and this happened:

Bought: 21.38
Sold 21.37

Seems that something isn't right as I would have expected to have been stopped out at 21.38 - $0.5 = 20.88

Or else stopped out with profit at 21.38 + 0.25 = 21.63

I was test trading an ETF using my IB account via TWS

It was SKF long. In my figures below, I actually removed the 1 in front of the prices quoted, so the actuals were

bought: $121.38 and sold $121.37

I've read the manual and followed and implemented the suggestions made by Ben (which seem to have been deleted from this thread for some reason???)

Does NT work in any domain other than ticks?

Yes, absolutely. You can change the Parameter type to either Price, Percent or Ticks.

Right click in the DOM--> Properties--> Parameters.

Why did the ATM strategies that I have tested so far, and as described in this thread fail, when used with an ETF?

I am certain that I understand how to implement an ATM. I'd love to get this resolved so that I can subscribe to NT and use it for semi automated trading with my IB account, however if it isn't reliable then I'll be forced to abandon the product.
