    Strategy Analyzer causing NT to crash

    My Strategy Analyzer was working fine up until about 1/2 an hour ago. Now, whenever I'm in the Strategy Analyzer and I right-click on an instrument and select "Backtest" NinjaTrader crashes. The whole program shuts down. I've tried rebooting my PC and this hasn't helped.

    The Visual Studio Just-In-Time debugger reads:
    An unhandled exception ('System.StackOverflowException>') occurred in NinjaTrader.exe[1228]

    Any advice on what I need to do to get the Strategy Analyzer running again?

    Hi Lou,

    Can you send your log to support at ninjatrader dot com and put in the subject 'For Vince'. Refer to this post as well.

    You can find your log under My Documents--> NinjaTrader 6.5--> Log--> log.20080808

      Here's the part of the log where the errors start. Is this what you need? The entire log file is over 35,000 lines so I was think just sending you the relevant part would be sufficient.

        Log files and traces will be attached. Please put in the subject 'For Vince'.

              Sorry, your trace is not readable since it's 1 GB (!). Please :
              - go to Diagnostics tab and make sure you ONLY have checked options Order, Connect, To File only. NEVER check ANY other option unless advised by our support team
              - Tools->Options->uncheck "show diagnostics" tab to hide it
              - manually delete any file larger than 10 MB in the folder <my documents>/NinjaTrader6.5/trace

              If the problem persists then please send us traces and logs again.

                I replicated the error and sent today's log and trace files via gmail to [email protected] per your specifications. Please advise ASAP since I still can't use the Strategy Analyzer.

                  Hello Lou,

                  Could you please send me your trace again for the date the error occurred. You can find the file at the following location:

                  Start Menu--> My Documents--> NinjaTrader 6.5--> Trace--> trace.20080812 for today. (trace.yyyymmdd for any other date)

                  Please put "Attn Jason" in the subject header.

                    You can forget about this issue for now. On a hunch, thinking that NT somehow became allergic to my most recent strategy file, I deleted the file and recopied the entire day's work by hand into an older version of the strategy. It worked. The Strategy Analyzer runs again.
