Some Market Analyzer questions

I know that these are probably very simple questions but I need to make sure that I understand what is happening in MA.

1. What does NetChange represent? Is it affected by MA properties Session begins/ends settings?

2. The same questions for LastClose.

These values are not effected by your session begins and ends times as they are based offf OHLC values coming from your datafeed.

So the Net change would the difference between the Open provided by your datafeed and the current price.

Thank you. What about LastClose? When using Zenfire with the YM, for example, is LastClose the previous day's close?

Net Change in Market Analyzer

I am using IQFeed and the Net Change column is showing the difference between yesterday's close and the current price, not the difference between today's open and the current price, as stated by Jessica in post #2 above.

Is this an irregularity due to IQ feed or some other problem?

NetChange is traditionally calculated off of yesterdays close.

I'm using ZenFire data feed and Net Change is also showing the difference between yesterday's close and the current price, which is what I need. I think that the original response (difference from the open) was a mistake. The help on this forum is great but is not always 100% correct.

So...

Lastclose and netchange are the same things...just netchange is the difference from last close in % and last close is the difference in actual price...

Correct?

There is no way to change the netchange to the opening price instead of the previous close price? or a way to use the opening indicater in MA to run as a %?

LastClose the is just the closing price of the previous session; not the difference.

You could create a custom indicator that plot the netchange using the opening price and load it in the Market Analyzer. Information about creating custom indicators can be found at the link below.
