Add Eurodollar contract months

Hi,

I'd like to trade GE (eurodollar) 12-19 expiry month. The latest month available is 10-19.

Can I add 12-19 or do I have to wait for a new NT update?

In NinjaTrader 8 expiries for GE are listed through 12-22 and will not require any additional setup, however, in NinjaTrader 7 they are only programmed through 12-18 and requires several steps to add and chart this additional expiry.

You'll need to upgrade to the latest version of NinjaTrader 7, reset your instruments, manually create the 12-19 expiry, then manually type this into a chart or other data window.

1) To upgrade NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below.

• First get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
• Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
• Enter your license key and press Submit
• Select 'NinjaTrader 7'
• Select 'Download'
• Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

2) After the upgrade, please reset your instruments. Keep in mind that this well remove all custom settings from instruments, however, this is the only way to get all available instrument updates:

• To reset your instruments please follow the steps below.
  
• Disconnect from your data feed: NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Disconnect> Select your data feed.
• Reset your Instruments: NinjaTrader Control Center> Tools> Options> Data tab> Reset Instruments>OK.
• Restart NinjaTrader> Connect (NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Connect> Select your connection.

3) Then, manually create the GE 12-19 expiry:

• Control Center > Tools > Instrument Manager
• In the Master Instrument List, find and select the 'GE' instrument > Edit
• Misc tab > Scroll to the bottom of this tab > Click on 'contract months' > select the '...' button to the right
• You are now in the 'Contract Months window. Click on New
• On the right, edit the contract month to be 12-19
• Set the expiry as desired (I set mine to 11/1/19)
• OK > OK > OK

4) You cannot add this expiry from the Instrument Manager. You need to type this in manually on an already open chart.

• Once you've completed all the steps below, select an open chart in your workspace (or make a new chart with a known symbol and expiry from your default instrument list).
• Once the chart is selected, begin typing (the mini data series box will automatically appear) 'GE 12-19' then press enter on your keyboard

Thank you PatrickG, that worked.

I also wanted to run this expiry through the Strategy Analyzer but I guess that would only be possible in NT8 then.
