setting up bars
I have a strategy set up, but I want the order to kick in 2 bars after my signal.
So if the strategy signal is seen, the strategy will wait 2 more bars before entering the position. How can I do this?Tags: None

Hello Bobbybattles,
Thank you for the note.
Assuming the strategy is running on a daily series, to have an order go out on a delay, you could save the current bar to a variable, along with setting a bool to execute on delay. Then in your strategy you would check if that bool was set to true and CurrentBar was >= xBar+2, and if so, enterLong.
For example,
Code:if(Close[0]>0) {
xBar=CurrentBar; enterDelay=true;
}
Code:if(enterDelay==true)
if(CurrentBar>=xBar+2) {
EnterLong(); enterDelay=false;
}
Your strategy would need the following variables declared,
Code:private enterDelay=false; private int xBar;
