    FXCM Demo Account Pending Market Entry Order

    Hi,

    I am testing a new strategy on a FXCM demo account. The backtest order execution looks fine.

    Running it live, market entry orders (using Managed Approach) get submitted by the strategy, but being kept in pending state. The order gets executed by 'External', i.e. a separate order which is filled, so a Position is opened, but it does not Show on the Chart where I attach the strategy onto.

    I guess that the Exit Management is not properly working, since there is no Placement of a Limit Exit order, I guess the Problem is that the Signal entry Name is not available, since that order is still pending.

    How to fix this?

    Martin,

    First, please disable the strategy and close out that position from the Positions Tab.

    I would like to review your log and trace files to see what occurred at this time.

    Please go to Help -> Mail to Platform Support

    Put ATTN Cal and reference this thread in the body.

      It appears quite weird that a simple buying logic using standard methods from the Managed framework is not supported by FXCM while they claim that you can trade their accounts with NinjaTrader.
      I could not find any documentation telling me to re-code anything with regard to above.

        Hello Martin,

        This is being addressed by development with plans to update NinjaTrader 7 r28 with this.

        I do not a current release date for this item. In the meantime please continue to use the Sim101 account in its stead.

          Hi Carl,

          thank you for your help.

          I will make a test run on Sim101 account.

          Do you happen to know whether a real FXCM account has the same problem? I plan to go live quite soon, and open an account there, which will be the same as FXCM use for their Trading Station II. I am in particular concerned about opening opposite positions automatically closing the last open position. Does this work or do I have to first close the open Position before opening an opposite position in a strategy?

            This is only for the demo accounts that this is affecting.

            Live accounts are working as expected

              I have had a similar issue with developing a strategy on an FXCM demo Ninjatrader account. I was getting PendingSubmit orders left in the order history even when flat. This then prevented my strategy from starting up as it was trying to close these 'open' orders but was unable to.

              The PendingSubmit orders seem to be created in the same way as described by mstrek. In fact, just submitting a market order using ChartTrader produces the same behaviour. The original market order is left as a PendingSubmit and the filled order is given a new order ID.

              This problem does not occur when using Sim101.

              Can you confirm that FXCM Ninjatrader live accounts do not have this issue regarding PendingSubmit orders?
