    Trouble With Simulation

    I have successfully created a strategy on Ninja.

    What I would like to do is test it with the simulator.

    Instruments are Emini s&p futures, Eur/Usd, and AAPL.

    I have a live TD Account which comes with a paper account under the same login details.

    I also have an IB account.

    When connecting to the TD Account, I'm unable to make a manual order of Emini futures. I get the error message: Order can't be submitted. Instrument type "Future" is not supported by any provider connected.

    I don't have clearance to trade live futures on this account, but I can view data and paper trade futures with this account.

    Why would it not be supported with Ninja ?

    Hello miktrading,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

    The only instruments supported by a TD Ameritrade connection through NinjaTrader are equities and indices.

    Please take a look at this link in our help guide for more information about what data is provided to NinjaTrader by each connectivity provider: http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...rical_data.htm

      Thanks.

      Moving on to IB.

      I get the error message: IB Adapter Message Loop. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

      I was logged into IB on my computer while I received this message.

        Hello Steve,

        Please ensure that you have followed the Interactive Brokers connection guide and have configured TWS to work with NinjaTrader.

        The following link will take you to a page that details the steps required for creating a connection to Interactive Brokers and specific connection configuration information.



        You must have standalone Traders Workstation (TWS) version 944.3 (browser version is not supported) installed



        If this is still not working:

        Please manually attach your most current log and trace files to an email to platformsupport [AT] ninjatrader [DOT] com with a link to this thread and my name referenced in the body.

        You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
        The log file will be named "log.20151208.txt"

        You will find the trace file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
        The trace file will be named "trace.20151208.txt"

          I connected TWS, yet I receive a error message for all instruments.
          Error loading chart data. No market data permissions.

            Hello miktrading,

            This message indicates your Interactive Brokers account is not enabled for this data.

            You will need to contact Interactive Brokers to manage your data subscriptions.

                Q: Can the free delayed market data feed from IB be used with Ninja Trader?
                A: No. Delayed market data is not relayed through the IB API and account holders seeking to use IB as a data source must subscribe to a real-time data feed through Account Management.
