    Parameters in Add On?

Hello, 1) How do I set a Parameter value for an AddOn? 2) How do I add a new Parameter to an existing AddOn? I'm not using AddOn to make a new tab or window....it is used to launch a background process.... Thanks

      Hello Turtle Trader,

      Thank you for your note.

So I can best answer your question, would you please provide more information on what you're looking to do when you say set a parameter value?

I look forward to your reply.

I found a better solution than parameters

What I am trying to do is to get the name of a session run time Profile.

I don't like using the Ninja Parameters so I put most all parameters in an SQL database then load them at startup into public static variables.

So, in this case I just needed the name of the Profile I want to load....for testing the profile will be something like TEST. In production, a different profile PROD.

What I did was to put this profile name in a text file, very similar to the old idea of an INI file, in the Ninja 8 My Documents and then read it at startup (via an AddOn.

Once I have the name of the session Profile, then I can continue loading the run configuration from the SQL database with an AddOn.

Works good, and I don't have to mess with the Parameters.
