I am tyring to update data in my addon by subscribing to OnPositionUpdates for active strategies. Is there a trick to being able to subscribe in the Addon to the event being published by the strategies?

You would need to follow the samples from the help guide to subscribe to the event on the account, did you try that and if so what part are you having trouble with?
If you can provide a sample of what you tried or what you are seeing happen that would be helpful.
To subscribe to account positions updates you would need to use the addon account object and subscribe to its OnPositionUpdate event. You wouldn't know which strategy had the update only that there was a position update. There is no way to observe individual strategy OnPositionUpdates from this context just the overall account.
