Programitcally Determine an Instrument is Delayed

Is there a way to determine if an instrument is on a delayed feed or not programmatically? I notice that the NinjaTrader log shows an entry when one switches to an instrument. Specifically it will show

'[Instrument]' market data is delayed since your account does not have a real-time subscription for the exchange this market trades on.

At the moment, the only known solution is to compare the current time to the last tick for the instrument. If the difference is less then a minute (or even less then 10 seconds) then its probably safe to assume its not delayed.

    Hello ntbone,

    Thanks for your post.

There is not a documented/supported means to check this. If you like, we can submit a a feature request to make a property available. Let me know if that interests you.

    We look forward to assisting.

Yes. Please create a feature request for this. I would like to create an indicator for a chart that lets me know when a symbol I am looking at is delayed as it is not as obvious as I would like it to be and would not want to trade a symbol that is delayed.

        Hello ntbone,

Done. The ticket ID for the request is SFT-5198. For anyone else willing to share their interest, please let us know you would like this SFT ID upvoted.

        Feature Request Disclaimer

We receive many requests and cannot reasonably implement all requested features or changes. Interest is tracked internally and if enough interest is tracked, it would be weighed against how feasible it would be to make those changes to consider implementing.

When new features are implemented, they will be listed in the Release Notes page of the Help Guide. The ID number will be different than the internal feature request tracking ID, but the description of the feature will let you know if that feature has been implemented.
