Strategy Recognize Market Replay

Just to save me a little time and hassle when Strategy testing:

Is there some code I could use so that my strategy automatically recognizes when it's operating in Market Replay?

You can use Bars.IsInReplayMode for that.

Actually, I meant "Playback" rather than "Market Replay." Sorry about that. Is there a similar simple code snippet to accomplish the same thing with Playback?

Hello Doctor JR,

The code in post 2 would achieve that, replay is playback mode. Playback is the new name for the market replay connection from NT7, its is otherwise the same tool.

When I use it and implement:

if (Bars.IsInReplayMode)
{ MarketReplay = true;}
else
{ MarketReplay = false;}

MarketReplay is always "false"

I can set up a simple bool. That isn't the problem. The code is placed in "OnBarUpdate."

Any ideas?

If that is not working you could alternatively check the connection status:

if(Connection.PlaybackConnection != null && Connection.PlaybackConnection.Status == ConnectionStatus.Connected)
