Files in Export NinjaScript included in assembly

    Hi,
any file other than a zip in the Export NinjaScript folder gets included in the assembly. This is inconvenient, and it would be great if it didn't happen, for the following reason.
I also have problems altering zip files in the NT8 Export NinjaScript folder. Changes (such as deletion or adding of files like templates, other DLLs etc) are immediately undone when I leave the zip. This doesn't happen in NT7's Export NinjaScript folder.
Therefore I have to unzip the zip to a normal folder, make the changes, then zip it again. If I leave the normal folder in the Export NinjaScript folder then all the files in it are essentially duplicates of files in the Indicators or Strategies folders and NT8 complains on the next compile.

    Cheers,
    saltminer

Hello saltminer, and thank you for your report.

I tried the following, and wasn't quite able to see the same thing on my end that I believe you saw on yours :

    1. Place a .mp3 file inside (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\ExportNinjaScript
    2. Export an Indicator as a source assembly
    3. Export an Add-On as a source assembly
    4. Export an Indicator as a compiled assembly
    5. Export an Add-On as a compiled assembly

In both these cases, the mp3 file did not end up in either assembly.

Could you review the above instructions and let me know if there are any other steps I need to take?

With respect to files in existing zips, I have submitted a feature request to the product management team for the following feature :
This customer would like existing zip archives to be modified instead of replaced when exporting NinjaScript
I will follow up with more information as soon as it's available. If the feature requests already exists, a vote will be added to it.

Please let us know if there are any other ways we can help.

        Hi Jessica,
not an mp3 file. Just export something as source code.
Then, unzip it in-place there in the Export NinjaScript folder.
Then compile something - it screws up the assembly as Ninja sees the .cs files in the Export NinjaScript folder.
        Cheers,
        saltminer

          Hello saltminer,

          Thank you for your response.

The ExportNinjaScript folder should not have any .cs files in it. There is no means around this.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
