i have an indicator that sends an email notification. Is there a way to access an image of the chart its running on to attach to the email?

    Hello pman777,

    Thank you for the post.

Please see this sample which creates a chart object and captures a screenshot:

You would then use the Share method and add the screenshot path to the parameters.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

When I run the indicator above, it works fine. When I add this code to my strategy, I get this error message on the compile: "'NinjaTrader.Gui.Chart.ChartControl' does not contain a definition for 'GetScreenshot' and no extension method 'GetScreenshot' accepting a first argument of type 'NinjaTrader.Gui.Chart.ChartControl' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)" Not sure what's causing this to happen. I seem to have all of the same declarations as the indicator above.

          Hello pman777,

I wanted to check, do you have the same using statements at the top of the script as the indicator? Have you also identically copied the logic from the indicator?

The error you are reporting indicates that the extension method cannot be found which may happen if you are trying to use the wrong object such as ChartControl which is not the Chart object. In the indicator sample, the Chart is being used, not the ChartControl.

I look forward to being of further assistance.
