    SUM divide

    Hello,

    I would like to modify SUM so i can add a division.

    Value[0] = Input[0] + (CurrentBar > 0 ? Value[1] : 0) - (CurrentBar >= Period ? Input[Period] : 0);

    I want to divide by the number i want, like for exemple 4 or 6. so i tried:

    Value[0] = Input[0] + (CurrentBar > 0 ? Value[1] : 0) - (CurrentBar >= Period ? Input[Period] : 0)/4;

    Value[0] = Input[0] + (CurrentBar > 0 ? Value[1] : 0)/4 - (CurrentBar >= Period ? Input[Period] : 0)/4;

    But it still does not give the right result. Anyone know why and how to write this right?

    Hello frankduc,

    Thank you for the post.

    To clarify, are you trying to take the whole calculated value divided by 4?

    If so, you may try just adding another line directly below this one:

    Code:
    Value[0] = Input[0] + (CurrentBar > 0 ? Value[1] : 0) - (CurrentBar >= Period ? Input[Period] : 0);
    Value[0] = Value[0]  / 4;
    I look forward to being of further assistance.

      It did not give the right answer.

      If i input 200 period it is not returning the sum / 4

      if the sum gives 100 i would expect each divided by 4 = 25 onbarupdate

        Hello frankduc,

        Thank you for the reply.

        In this case, the equation of the sum needs to calculate based on the prior value of the sum.

        You would need to store the sum value to a series, and then plot the division in this case:

        Code:
        myDoubleSeries[0] = (Input[0] + (CurrentBar > 0 ? myDoubleSeries[1] : 0) - (CurrentBar >= Period ? Input[Period] : 0));
        Value[0] = myDoubleSeries[0] / 2;

        I look forward to being of further assistance.
