    2 different MA's Filled Ribbon

    Hi,

I'm looking for a trend indicator which forms a filled ribbon between 2 different MA's. As in say a EMA 8 and WMA 12 for an example. Showing one color for buying and one for selling with a neutral color when both MA's are going sideways. I've looked everywhere and haven't been able to find one. I have on the NT7 but no joy for NT8 thus far.

    Cheers

    Hello SteveAU,

    Thanks for your post.

I'll provide a link to an indicator in the NT user apps section of the Ninjatrader Ecosystem. This indicator uses two selectable moving averages and offers several options, one is to color the region between the MAs according to the direction so it sounds exactly like what you are looking for.

This indicator is publicly available on our NinjaTrader Ecosystem website:
Here is a basic guideline of how to import NinjaScript add-ons in NinjaTrader 8:

Note — To import NinjaScripts you will need the original .zip file.

    To Import:
    1. Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
    2. From the Control Center window select the menu Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-on...
    3. Select the downloaded .zip file
    4. NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.

Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'

Once installed, you may add the indicator to a chart by:
    • Right-click your chart > Indicators... > Select the Indicator from the 'Available' list on the left > Add > OK

Here is a short video demonstration of the import process:

          Hello SteveAU,

          Thanks for your reply.

The NinjaTrader7 version of the MA CrossBuilder does not have the draw region option. There may be another indicator that you can use and you are welcome to look through all indicators to find what you need or use as a start for developing your own.
