    Time question

    Hi,

The time on my charts is incorrect.

Currently it's showing 5 PM when it should be 4 PM.

How do I adjust it back one hour? I'm in EST.

    Thanks,

    Jason

    Hello Jason,

NinjaTrader will use the time and time zone of your local PC Clock.

Please use the steps below to change your Time Zone and sync the PC clock, note to set the server to time.nist.gov.
    • Shutdown NinjaTrader
    • Right-click the clock in the lower right corner of your desktop -> Select Adjust date/time
    • If you are using Windows 10, click 'Additional date, time, & regional settings' -> then click 'Set the time and date'
    • Ensure the time zone is set to your local time zone
    • Click on Internet Time tab
    • In the Server: drop-down select time.nist.gov
    • Click Update
    • If the message that appears says successful your PC clock should now be updated
    • If not, select a different server from the Server: drop-down and try again (repeat until one of the servers is successful)
    • Restart NinjaTrader
    • Connect to a data feed, then right-click the chart and select Reload All Historical Data

Starting with Windows Vista and on through Windows 7 and 8, you can synchronize your clock with an internet-based server. This will ensure your computer time is always correct. Having the correct t…

This tutorial will show you how to synchronize time with Internet time server and add the new time server using the Registry in Windows 10.

There is also an internal time zone property in the Tools -> Options... -> General window. Please ensure this is set to your local time zone as well.

After syncing the PC clock and checking the internal time zone, please let me know if this has not resolved the issue.

        Maybe I spoke too soon.

When I started NinjaTrader back up the time was again off by one hour.

I'm including a snippet. The time was 7:43 PM EST when it was captured.

          Hello jasonw,

I'm not certain what the issue is.

The bar is a 60 minute bar.

If the time is 7:43 PM then that 60 minute bar would be closing at 8:00 PM (20:00).

Can you clarify what the issue is in the screenshot?

            Ok, there's no problem then.

I'm used to thinkorswim charts which show the open with each 60 minute bar.

            Again thanks for your assistance.
