continuous contract symbol different for NT 8 than 7?

In NT 7, you can get the continuous contract for any symbol by using the hashtag, like this, for example:
    ES ##-##
Unfortunately, I get a blank chart when I try that in NT 8.
OK, I see. With my NT 7, I'm using Kinetick, but with NT 8, I'm using Phillip Capital.
So, I assume that Phillip, for some reason, has a different symbol for the continuous contracts? Or do they not offer them? Or what?

    Hello Tasuki,

    Thank you for your post.

Glad to assist. You are correct, continuous futures are not loaded in the same manner in NinjaTrader 8 as with NinjaTrader 7 when using NinjaTrader Continuum/Continuum/CQG. If you connect to Kinetick in 8, the ##-## method can still be used.

In NinjaTrader 8 the method changed and merged the data on the back end. To do this, go to Tools > Options > Market Data and select "MergeBakAdjusted" for the Merge Policy. With this, you can then see the same chart data when using the standard front month and year as was seen with ##-## in NinjaTrader 7.

We look forward to assisting further.
