    Prompt for backup on exit doesn't work

    Hey fellas -

    Just wanted to report a bug that when you are exiting the program when your scheduled backup is supposed to occur, the program doesn't create a backup when you select Yes. Instead, it just immediately closes the program.
    The manual backup is fine so I just do it once a month instead of relying on the scheduled reminder.

      I could not reproduce this in 8.0.9.0 or our internal build of NinjaTrader.

      I took these steps:
      • Start NinjaTrader
      • Control Center > Tools > Export > Backup File...
      • Enable 'Reminder' set for Monday (today)
      • Shut down NinjaTrader
      • Choose 'yes' when prompted if I would like to create a backup
      • Check the 'NinjaTrader 8 backup' folder


      I noticed that the backup file took about 10 seconds to actually appear in the NinjaTrader 8 backup folder once NinjaTrader 8 had shut down. I suspect this amount of time after shutdown will be different for everyone and depend on your PC specs, size of the NinjaTrader folder.

      What version of NinjaTrader 8 are you using? This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.0.X.0)

        Oh.. okay.. I see what you're saying now. NJT8 is running in the background and creating the backup file. I thought I'd see the dialogue progress box like I do when I do it manually.
        Usually, I shut down my computer when I'm done trading so that backup file never gets created.

          Hey guys,

          As a feature request and follow-up to this, could you guys please add the same progress dialogue box that you use for the manual backup? That way, the user can be notified that the application is doing something before it completely closes.

            Thanks for the suggestion. I've submitted a feature request for this. I'll update this post when I receive a tracking number.

            EDIT: the tracking number is SFT-1644.
