OCHL Custom

Looking for an OCHL current and prior day that will allow entry of start and stop times for an instrument. OCHL would be independent of instrument open/close settings.

Thanks for writing in to our Support team and welcome to the NinjaTrader Support forum!

I wasn't able to locate a custom version of the OHL/Prior OHLC indicator that allows you to input start and end times for the session on our forum.

However you can define start and end times for the session in a custom trading hours template in order to achieve the behavior you would like.

We also have many pre-defined trading hours templates that you can use to achieve this behavior.

You define the trading hours template that is applied to your chart in the Data Series window in the Time frame section.

If you do not want the session that the Current Day OHL/Prior Day OHLC is calculating its values off of displayed on the chart, we can create an invisible data series and overlay it on the chart with a different trading hours template and use that as the input series for the indicators.

If you are interested in pursuing the last option, please let me know and I would be happy to provide further details.

For the hidden series, use whatever Trading hours template you would like for your Current Day OHL/Prior Day OHLC indicators to calculate from.

Then, you will need to change the input series that the indicators are calculating from:

1. Right click on your chart and select Indicators
2. Select your Current Day OHL/Prior Day OHLC indicator
3. Find the Input series parameter and click on this to Edit the input series
4. At this point it is important for you to remember which order you added the hidden series when you created your chart (first or last), as both input series will show up with the same label if all you did was change the trading hours template
5. If you added the hidden series second, choose the second series listed.
6. If you added the hidden series first, choose the first series listed.
