zoom in/out via mouse scroll

Glad to assist, there is not a method to zoom via mouse scroll, but via hot keys and the chart tool bar icons. See the below section of our help guide for more on chart zoom.

this post exists from the time of nt7 back to 2017 and no one has come up with coding this obvious feature in 4 years time? seriously ??

instead we have 3rd party vendors coding native essential tasks? http://ninza.co/product/smart-zoom

any other platform like quantower, motivwave, sierra charts, tradingview offers this since....

Add my vote too, please. Though if it hasn't happened by now... then it's really unlikely to happen, given it's a basic feature found on most other platforms.

Just get a programmable mouse and set the scroll wheel up and down to either trigger the chart zoom in hot key settings, or chart zoom out hotkey (it is called barspacing+ and barspacing- in the control centre>tools>hotkeys settings). So for me, my scroll up mouse control triggers hotkey ctrl+Down, which zooms in. I've used various mouse makes, logitech, steel series etc. Anything with programmable buttons, you just prorgam the scroll whell to trigger whatever you set your barspacing+ and barspacing- hotkeys as in NT8 hotkey settings on Nt8. Barspacing+ zooms in and Barspacing- zooms out. I tend to set my width setting on the chart to minimum as it does seem to change the width, but play about with it and it works just as a standard zoom in/out does pn other platforms.
