Order Account CreateOrder deprecated ??????

Upgraded to 8.0.11

Why am i seeing Account.CreateOrder as being deprecated in visual studio. NO mention of this in release notes or anywhere in the forum

please advise asap

Thanks for opening the thread.

CreateOrder() had a new overload added for setting the GTD DateTime and for setting the tag of an order entry as an automated order or manually placed order. (This is important when it comes to the CME and automated trading.)

The help guide was updated to describe this new recommended overload that takes 12 arguments. The old overload still exists for backwards compatibility.

Hello, thanks for the reply.

Within the Addon CreateOrder i see the additional argument.
This has obviously been introduced in this new release.

However i would respectfully comment that this SHOULD have been clear in the release notes.

You cannot expect users to continually troll around the help pages detecting changes - i did a quick search on CreateOrder in top level Ninjatrader 8 and also found nothing in the forum on this.

You MUST improve your cross referencing and informing users on this in release notes and not just say but it is in the help pages - with a new parameter slipped in and no footnote
