Repeater Indicator still malfunctioning

Both repeater indicators on both charts set to start at 16:00:00 and end at 09:29:59

One working correctly one not.

Why?

(PS - there seem to be two options for uploading images here - "medium" which is really small, or "large" which is absolutely enormous - any of you brainboxes at NT thought about a compromise size in-between?)

So that I can recreate, what trading hours template are you applying in your data series?

To find this, please right mouse click on the chart and select "data series...". In the data series window, please identify the setting for "trading hours".

Are you using any additional data series on your charts that are hidden (if so what trading hours are they set to)?

Does the same thing occur if you set the time to 09:29:58? or 57? The reason for asking is if there is no incoming data at that specific second on that instrument would be one possible reason.

What data feed are you connected to?

I've applied your settings to the same instrument and do not see the same issue, please see attached (the chart is on mountain time).

I think it's getting confused by the Post Market time ending at 8pm, then no data until Pre-Market at 4am. So as far as the Repeater Indicator is concerned, 5am is 9pm, 6am is 10pm etc etc.

Can you test this?

When the Repeater indicator is applied to a stock chart and is set to start at 16:00:00 and end at 09:29:59, I see the following (compressed chart to show several days).



The indicator works on data firing the OnBarUpdate() and if you have no data then you may well have unexpected results. I've previously recommended you use another indicator which was linked in my previous reply.

OK - I will just use the Color Regions script instead - it seems to work and is simpler.

The new color indicator doesn't seem to be working correctly either - it's not showing the border up until 09:30 when the market opens (see attached image)

I'm not sure what your expectations are of the indicator but it appears from your screenshot to be operating as expected. You have defined the start time as 4:00 PM and the end time as 9:29 AM and the screenshot is showing that the region is being painted bar by bar to the current bar on your chart which is before 9:00 AM. As each bar advances the region will be redrawn to include the current bar.

As neither indicator are meeting your needs, you may want to have a custom indicator created for you by a 3rd party programmer. If this is of interest please let us know and we can provide a link to 3rd party coders who can meet your needs.

Repeater Indicator shows the entire blocked off section, it doesn't draw it "bar by bar" like this Color indicator.

All we need to do is have an option for Color indicator to draw the entire block out.

Or maybe... just maybe NINJATRADER could actually make the indicator themselves properly, as it's obviously extremely useful to stock traders, and Ninjatrader claims to be able to work for stock traders?

thanks for your reply.

My previous comments related to the color regions indicator. It appeared to be operating correctly, can you confirm? Your last comments are now back on the Repeater indicator.

As a suggestion, using the Repeater indicator, create two time regions, one from 16:00 until 23:39, the second from 00:00 to 9:30 turn off the "Show outline" (or leave if you prefer lines) and advise if this resolves the issue for you.
