Interactive brokers connection with NT7 / 8

Good morning,

I've NT7 connected with IB because i need Eurex data and every time I Reload historical data it takes normally 20 seconds to refresh the chart while if I do the same but with NT 8 it goes down to 10 seconds.

Why is that? is there any way to fix it?

By the way, I have continuum demo for the S&Pfutures and the reload historical data takes just 1 or 2 seconds.in both NT7 and 8

Thanks for your post.

The connection state between NinjaTrader and your broker/market data vendor is not dictated by NinjaTrader (but by the internet connection or your PC settings). The NinjaTrader application only reports the connection state as it is reported by the API you are connected through.

NinjaTrader behaves like a radio receiver in that it receives signals from the connected server. If the signals are slow or not coming through, the underlying broker/market data vendor API reports this to the NinjaTrader application which in turn reports this back to you.

May I ask how many day are you loading on your charts?

How many charts are in that workspace?

How large is your NinjaTrader database? This can be found inside \Documents\NinjaTrader 7\db\

No way.It takes 20 seconds to reload all data . Strange!

Lets try renaming your db and then restarting NT. Make sure NT is shut down before you rename the file.

I have renamed it and the result is the same : 20 seconds

Can you exit NinjaTrader and go to \Documents\NinjaTrader 7\ and delete the "cache" folder. Start NinjaTrader and check if charts load data as expected.

Once you deleted the db-->cache folder, a new folder will be created. This folder is used to quickly load data in charts - the actual data is saved in the tick, minute and day folders. So the first time data will take a little longer to load than usual. Once all data is loaded, it should load data quickly again.
