    Chart Properties Selection Bug

    Hello,

I have been having this problem with my charts... When I left click on the chart and go to "Properties", this first bool under "General" is "Allow the selection or drag/drop of chart series", this keeps getting unchecked whenever I move between tabs or windows regardless of saving it as a preset and saving it on chart template.

    Hello KINGKODA,
    Thanks for your post.

This setting should be checked by default. Do you see the same behavior if you click preset>>restore in the Properties window?

      Hey Josh,

Yes the same behavior occurs despite restoring preset... It seems to glitch whenever I move between tabs on the same window... I tried opening new windows and still, when I add tabs and move between the tabs on the chart, the "Allow the selection or drag/drop of chart series" gets unchecked.

        KINGKODA,

What version of NinjaTrader 8 are you using?

Do you see any errors on your logs tab?

So we can further diagnose your system, please test for this behavior in Safe Mode. Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
        • Loading workspaces.
        • Connecting on start-up.
        • Loading custom assemblies.
        • Getting instrument updates from the server.
To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
        • Exit NinjaTrader.
        • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
        • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
        • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.
        • Test for the same behavior.

I am using the latest version NT8.0.16.3

Yes the error I'm getting in the log tab says "Unhandled exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

When I tested this behavior in safe mode there were no errors.

How can I find out which Indicator is causing the issue? And how can I fix this issue?

            KINGKODA,

I would suggest rebuilding your workspace, adding 1 indicator at a time. Please keep track of what indicators you add back in so that we can narrow down what indicator is causing the issue if the issue returns. I also suggest making a backup of your workspace so we can restore a backup if the issue returns. I have provided a link below to our Help Guide that goes over backing up and restoring.

Also, I suggest only having one workspace open while you are rebuilding. \

Let me know if any questions come up.

What should I do once I Identify the indicator causing this issue?

I created a new workspace and all the indicators are okay... There are no error messages in log but "Allow the selection or drag/drop of chart series" is still getting unchecked... I don't understand why... It happens whenever I have multiple tabs and multiple windows... I use 2 chart windows, each window has 2 tabs.

                  KINGKODA,

Are you saying this occurs in a multi-tabbed blank chart without your third party software running? If you have not tested this, please do.

I backed up NinjaTrader then erased all third party software to test this issue and it is still happening. There are no indicators on the chart.
Yes, the issue happens when moving between tabs on blank multi-tabbed charts and when moving between multiple blank chart windows.
