I get this strange error, how can I fix this? I do not understand what could be causing it. I haven't modified @UniversalOptimizer.cs

It is preventing me from compiling my other sources.(this is the only error)

In this particular case, the 'UnversalOptimizer.cs' file needs to be removed. Follow these steps:

• Open Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E)
• Navigate to Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > bin > Custom > Optimizers folder
• Delete '@UniversalOptimizer.cs'
• In NinjaTrader, recompile

It was inadvertently included in the 8.0.17.0 installer for a short time. In the future, it may be included in the installation without causing compile errors.

where can I download older versions of NT8? whatever was current around Christmas? or early january

We do not recommend using an older version of NinjaTrader. The current version is 8.0.17.2 and if any issues occur with this version, we should troubleshoot that.

You can find the previously supported version on our website. Enter your email on the main page, select 'NinjaTrader 8' from the drop down list, then look for the 'prior version' link.

they are gone now since I deleted those 3 files. They are the only 3 files that gave problems.

The Namespace "UniversalBase" came back when I upgraded to the latest version of NinjaTrader Version 8.0.17.2 64-bit this week.
I removed it so I could compile after searching for the problem and finding this thread.
Is that still the recommend fix?

Yes, that should be fine. There was a brief time during which the public installer included some files still in development, so anyone experiencing this issue must have downloaded 8.0.17.0 during that time. Removal of the files is the solutions.
