    Importing Historical Data from NT7 to NT8

    I wonder how i can migrate old historical Data from my NT7 to NT8. I missed using the migration tool that was started by the first NT8 installation.

    Thank you for your post.

    You should be able to manually export your data from NinjaTrader 7 and then manually import it into NinjaTrader 8 via the Historical data windows.

      I know but I have years of future data (minute an tick) and want to avoid to to this for every Futute rollover timeframe... Is there a way to start the migration tool manualy. I tried copying the the data but that doesn't work. Or should I uninstall NT8 and install it again to start the tool?

        Thank you for your reply.

        Unfortunately there's not a way to manually begin the migration tool. You could uninstall NinjaTrader 8 and reinstall it, but you'll need to be sure to do a complete reinstall or the migration tool would not be triggered.

        Please follow the steps listed below to completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader.
        • If possible, copy your license key from the Control Center > Help > License Key.
        • Close all running applications.
        • Navigate to your Documents folder > Right click on the 'NinjaTrader 8' folder > Rename > rename the folder to 'NinjaTrader 8 OLD'. DO NOT delete this folder.
        • Uninstall NinjaTrader within Windows Control Panel.
        • Navigate to C:\ > Program File (x86) > Delete the 'NinjaTrader 8' folder if it exists
        • Reboot your PC.
        • Once these steps are completed, download and install NT8 from the link below.
