Kinetick Market Metrics
I'm wondering if anyone has added any of the Kinetick Market Metrics instruments to an Instrument List and opened a chart for one of them. I've added two of them.......I think, but neither of them loaded into a chart. Maybe some of the instrument parameters were incorrect. I would have no way of knowing.Tags: None

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
Please follow the instructions below to add an instrument within the NinjaTrader 8 platform:- From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instruments
- Click the "add"
- Enter instrument specific information and select the appropriate exchange
- Fill in the relevant symbol mapping for Kinetick
- Press the "OK" button
For example, the EMINI S&P 500 PREMIUM is added with:
Master Instrument: (user defined name) PREM
Instrument Type: Index
Exchanges: Default
Tick Size: 0.01
Symbol Map: Kinetick: PREM.Z
Full list of Market Metrics at: http://kinetick.com/Market-Metrics
Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

I've followed the instructions as best I can and the instruments I add don't chart. These are the parameters screenshots for DOW JONES INDU ISSUES ADVANCES from Kinetick. The instruments that came with the software chart without problem.2 Photos

It would be nice if Kinetick or DTN offered instrument lists for these market metrics that NT could import.

Hello Max Baxter,
Thanks for your reply.
I was able to create and plot this instrument while not using an underscore in the master instrument field. Special characters in the master instrument field are not going to be allowed unless they are part of the symbol mapping for that instrument. if you try something like DOWADV instead, you should find the instrument works.
Please let me know if this is not the case.Marco G.NinjaTrader Customer Service

I tried what you suggested and it didn't work. What did you use for the exchange and trading hours fields? My experience has been that the only special characters allowed in the master instrument field are underscores. That's what the error message says when I i try to use the instrument symbol with a period in that field or have a space in the field.

Hello Max Baxter,
Thanks for your reply.
I used DOWADV as the master instrument name, Default as the exchange, Default 24/7 as the Trading Hours, and "II4A.Z" as the Kinetick Symbol Mapping. copying and pasting directly from the website may present a space in the very beginning that you would also want to remove so it isn't " II4A.Z" with a space in the beginning, as well.
Let me know if these do not work for you.Marco G.NinjaTrader Customer Service

I thought the name of the instrument wasn't important. It's the symbol mapping that matters and for that, the instrument symbol is used. I've tried the field values you used and the ones for the Dow Net Tick which uses the nyse exchange and US Equities RTH for trading hours. I'll monkey around with it for a while longer and if I can't work it out I'll move on.
