    Exchange time on charts

    Hi,
I trade futures on the CME(US) and Eurex(European) exchanges.

Also, I regularly move between GMT(UTC) and CET(GMT+1) timezones.

I am currently using the local time display on the charts and this is very confusing. The option might be to just display the charts in the timezone of their exchange, so even if the PC moves across timezones the charts are NOT affected. I have looked at other similar posts about changing the timezone via NinjaTrader Control Center > Tools > Options > General > Time Zone, is this the appropriate solution for me, IF I am moving across timezones to change this on each occasion.

    Please advice.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Thank you for your post. You are correct, the set Tools > Options > Time zone is able to used over the PC time. Because of this, I suggest setting the needed exchange time so this will reflect in your charts.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.

      Thanks Eric!

I can only set ONE exchange timezone with this, right? e.g. CME.
If I am also trading Eurex, then will this work for me?

        Hello,

        Thank you for your post.

Yes, you are correct, this setting will set the entire platform to this timezone and you may only have one timezone set at a time.

I would be more than happy to send this to our Development Team as a Feature Request.

I would just like to clarify before I do, that you are looking to be able to set different timezones in your charts based on which instrument you have selected in that chart, correct?

I look forward to your response.

          Hi Spencer,
Yes correct. So if I am trading/charting something on the CME, I would be expect (Central Standard Time) and for a instrument on Eurex e.g. FDAX, I would expect CET(Central European Time).

This way, even if I move my computer(PC time) across different timezones, the chart timings will not change.

Yes, please raise a feature request. Thanks!

You can add me too for this feature. In Tradestation 2000 you could change this setting in each chart separately. You could choose between local time (where you are) and exchange time. Very useful for traders outside the US, also because in Europe we have other dates for going from summer time to winter time and vice versa. With exchange time you have no bad surprises.

Really ridiculous that such a standard setting is on request. How can you trade normally if you trade in both US and Europe with, for example, volume profile and the different summer and winter times. So please add also my vote and I hope this will be adjusted soon.
