ID:	1055030 Hello,

Could you please make Automatic Horizontal Grid Lines with reasonable width, not just 3 lines for the entire chart? Also, could you please make the dash lines (SMAs) more like dash lines, not dot lines. Thanks.

    Hello traderharley,

    Thanks for your post.

I wanted to provide an example of what options you can use to improve the appearance of what you are doing.

The automatic grid lines are dependant upon both the time and price scale. You do have the option to set a fixed value for the horizontal grid lines, such as every x points, every x ticks, or every x pips. I've attached an example using fixed every 20 points.
Reference: See, "Understanding panel properties" https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...art_panels.htm

In the attached example I've added a 20 period EMA and a 100 period SMA, both set to a line thickness of 3 and a dash style of dash which seems to show well. The thickness of 1 does look like dots from a distance but once you increase the line thickness the dash becomes more pronounced.

Thank you Paul for the reply.

For the The automatic grid lines, I still like the reasonable width, maybe like 5% on each line. Many traders go through hundreds of charts each day to find the right trading candidates, 20 points for AMZN is good, it is not good for INTC, it is very inconvenient to change the fixed number on each stock we are searching.

I am not sure if this is very hard to make the grid line with reasonable width, seems like MC, TOS, TWS, ATP, all presents very reasonable grid lines.

          Hello traderharley,

          Thanks for your reply.

Gridlines are useful to some and an annoyance to others, we've provided options so they can be set as you wish but I certainly understand your interest when switching charts through many instruments. I will create a feature request to add more gridlines in the automatic settings. Creating a feature request does not mean that it will be implemented but does keep user requests in front of program management for regular review for inclusion.

Once I have that feature request number I will update this thread.

            Hello traderharley,

Your vote has been added to the existing feature request identified as SFT-3906, "Horizontal Line Spacing"

Thanks for your interest in improving NinjaTrader.
