    Playback Error

    Hello,

    I'm getting an error message when trying to use the playback feature on N8.

    Please see attached picture.

    Let me know & thanks.

    Hello Terry,

    Can you please send me your log and trace files, so I can investigate. Log and trace files can be found at the locations below.

    Windows start menu-->Documents-->NinjaTrader 8-->log

    Windows start menu-->Documents-->NinjaTrader 8-->trace

    Right click the log and trace folder and select Send to-->Compressed (zipped) folder. Subsequently attach both .zip files in your email and send it to platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com. Put 'Att Jason, Playback Error' in the subject header.


    Do you experience this error consistently each time you connect to the Playback?

    Try the following. Close all workspaces you have opened and create a new empty workspace. If you now connect to the Playback connection, do you experience the error?

      I try to uninstall and reinstall as well.

        Tried to uninstall & reinstall - still the same error message.

        Deleted the config file - restarted NT - same error message.

          I notice you experienced the issue for the first time yesterday during the 5th session. In the 3rd session, you were able to connect successful to the Playback. However at the end of the 3rd session, it shows the error messages below.

          2018-02-21 13:00:40:196|0|4|Unhandled exception: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\tjmcc\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\replay\GBPJPY'.

          2018-02-21 13:00:46:017|0|4|Unhandled exception: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\tjmcc\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\replay\AUDJPY'.

          Do you have these 2 folders on your computer? Could it be you have duplicate folders in the db-->replay folder


          Are you able to connect to the Playback when you run NinjaTrader in safe mode? Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:

          - Loading workspaces.
          - Connecting on start-up.
          - Loading custom assemblies.
          - Getting instrument updates from the server.

          To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:

          - Exit NinjaTrader.
          - Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
          - Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
          - You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.

            I used the company "Market Replay" to download data yesterday.

            In looking at the db folder\replay I noticed db\replay\replay plus the pairs EUDUSD etc. I deleted the second replay directory and that took care of the problem.
