I've tracked your impact with our change request to update the Visual Studio button in the NinjaScript Editor to support Visual Studio 2022.
The ticket ID is SFT-5391. I cannot offer an ETA or promise of fulfillment, but historically, we have been keeping the button up to date with current versions of Visual Studio.
Add my vote to the issue too, please. Having the same headache now after installing Ninja and current VS on my new pc.

For everyone who faces the issue as well, here is a temporary solution:
- with 2019 being installed, click the button in the NinjaScript editor
- rename the generated .sln and .csproj files
- open 2022 and open the renamed .sln file
Just be aware of that according to the NT_Jesse this isn't recommended. "I couldn't recommend this, the .csproj file is managed by NinjaTrader and if you make that not editable in some way you will have problems in the platform later down the line."
Cheers

Don't need to rename anything.
Just find the project and open it in VS 2022.
With the Ninja editor still open in the background, saves will be detected and it will compile automatically. If you want to debug... attach to the ninja process.
Just don't save the project. ( especially dont compile within VS, like I did by mistake at one point. )
Button doesn't work, but it's a very minor inconvenience in the end, I've found.

I just installed NT8 (8.0.25.0 64-bit) and Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 (Community, .Net), restarted the computer, and I still have that error "failed to find visual studio installation" when pressing "Open Project in Visual Studio".
The installer is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\Installer".
NT is in "C:\Program Files (x86)\NinjaTrader8"
Please help
