Cancelling an uncanceallable order?
I have 1 order that cannot be cancelled. This thing has been around for weeks. But it just says cancel pending in the orders tab. Clicking the X does nothing. I get warned about it every time I want to quit NT8.

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
Glad to assist. To clear the order, please reset the sim101 account.- From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the Accounts tab
- Right click on your simulation account and select 'Edit Account'
- Press the "Reset" button
Please feel free to write in with any additional NinjaTrader items we may assist with.

Thank you for your reply.
No, this would still keep all orders because both live and sim orders are stored in the database. To clarify, regarding the stuck sim order reported, the only method to clear this would be by resetting the sim account and clearing the sim trade history (see post #2 for steps). There is no additional workaround to clear the order at this time.

so apart from the annoyance I guess it wouldn't hurt just to leave it there? since I don't want to lose my history. Or could it cause or be related to other problems?

Thank you for your reply.
We do recommend clearing the order. We couldn't speculate on what issues may come up, though it may be best to avoid any that may be caused by leaving the order by removing the erroneous order.

I had this same issue myself today. Although I had figured I would need to reset the sim account, and did, it is most disturbing to consider what if this would have occurred with my live account? This has happened before but never to this degree. Previously, the order would clear itself. In this case, there was no clearing it without resetting the account. Obviously, one cannot reset a live account, as much as we would like to on some days.
The issue appears to occur when one attempts set a reversal strategy and the account hasn't the margin available. Disallowing the trade is certainly understandable. To lock up the platform with ceaseless dialogs harping about the problem is a rather insidious defect which must be cured.
What steps should one take should this happen to a live account?Last edited by yohuckleberry; 06-11-2019, 04:13 PM.

well there's the possibility it is limited to sim accounts? has anyone experienced this (or does any NT staff know about it happening) with live accounts?

Thank you for your reply.
In a situations where you are not able to manage the orders, the best practice would be to give your broker's Trade or Order Desk a call.
For NinjaTrader Brokerage clients, the following publicly-available link will give further information on the NinjaTrader Brokerage 24-hour Emergency Trade Desk.
Once you have closed the positions/orders with your broker please repair your database to remove the order from NinjaTrader.- Disconnect NinjaTrader from any open connections via File > Disconnect
- From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Database
- Press "Repair DB"
- Press the "Repair" button
