help with alerts please
so i set the following simple alerts:

Day Lo
last price crosses below daily low
Properties Properties
Offset + 0 Offset 1
arithmetic Offset type ticks

Daily Hi
Last price crosses above daily high
[same for the properties]

now the day lo alert works but the day hi does not

Please answer the following questions:

• What version of NinjaTrader 8 are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.0.?.?)
• Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?

Please provide me with screenshots which show all alert general settings and condition settings. Also, provide a screenshot of where you believe the alert should have triggered but did not.

I just downloaded the latest version this morning. 8.0.18.1 64-bit
no i did not receive an error message.

Thanks for the alert condition settings. Please also provide a screenshot of the 'general' alert settings as well as a screenshot of your chart where you believe the indicator should have triggered but did not.

alerts are created from the market analyzer

Cross above requires the value to be lower and then greater. Last Price wont cross above the DailyHigh if the Last Price is the Daily high, so Cross Above may not be the best operator. Try 'greater equal' instead.

i just changed the operator to 'greater or equal'; however, i still dont understand why the daily low condition works while the daily high does not. the daily low triggers and alert when the last price is one tick above the daily low, so why does the daily high alert not trigger when the last price is one tick below the daily high.

The difference is that you have a positive offset. This functions for the cross below because the condition is effectively "Check to see if the last price is lower than the daily low + 1 tick higher". The cross above condition should work with a negative offset because then the condition is "Check to see if the last price is higher than the daily high + 1 tick lower".

Your cross above condition for the daily high would need to have an offset of -1 instead of 1.
