Ninjatrader 8 not starting.. .

    Ninjatrader 8 not starting.. .

    My McAfee antivirus quaratined the Ninjatrader.exe file thinking it was ransom ware.. Ninjatrader would not startup because of it..
    I've since restored the file from quaratine and exculded the Ninjatrader.exe file from theMcAffe's antivirus search.. But Ninjatrader still won't start up..
    The splash screen comes up and it looks as though it's goin to start up but it quits..

    Thank you for your note.

    We find that this type of inquiry is best resolved in a remote support session.

    Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to an email to platformsupport[AT]ninjatrader[DOT]com with "ATTN CHRIS S 2198539" in the subject line so I may investigate this matter further and schedule a remote support session with you.
    • Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
    • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
    • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
    • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
    I look forward to your reply.

      Hello Chris,

      I reinstalled ninjatrader 8 as outlined.. But it still won't load.. It gets stopped out when it's intializing and quits.. What's next..??

        Hello Mykro,

        Thank you for your post.

        So we can further diagnose your system, please start NinjaTrader in Safe Mode.

        Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
        • Loading workspaces.
        • Connecting on start-up.
        • Loading custom assemblies.
        • Getting instrument updates from the server.

        To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
        • Exit NinjaTrader.
        • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
        • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
        • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.
        Please let me know the results of this test.

          I held the control key as you described, Ninjatrader started up with the Control Center visible....

            Hello Mykro,

            Thank you for your post.

            This would show that either there is an issue with your workspace, custom add-ons or auto-connect on startup.

            I was able to see that you worked with another one of my colleagues on a similar issue and was resolved by deleting the UI file.

            Has this behavior continued after working with my colleague?

            If so then I would like to take a look at your log and trace files to that I may get a better understanding of what is happening.

            Please email us at PlatformSupport [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com. In your message please include a link to this forum thread and a copy of your compressed log and trace files.
