Hello,
Thank you all for patience.
FXCM does support CFDs in NinjaTrader. You would use the CFD instrument type to look for the S&P500 or Nasdaq 100 for example.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

This is not correct. Even if FXCM has the data available, NinjaTrader does not support indexes or equities with FXCM.

You can get CFD data for S&P from FXCM. The symbol is @SPX500. They offer various other CFDs for indices and commodities too. For example DAX = @GER30. Gold = @XAUUSD.

Hello frantic,
The NinjaTrader 8 platform does support CFD equities with Interactive Brokers as well as indexes.

I think you're right there. I deleted the info so as not to confuse anyone. Makes sense that Ninjatrader wouldn't support CFDs as they're heavily invested in Futures.

Hello frantic,
While I cannot confirm if this the case with FXCM, I can confirm that NinjaTrader does not support any instrument types other than forex with FXCM.

Hello fibobo,
The FXCM connection does not supported indexes. This connection type supports forex.
You will not be able to load an ^SP500 chart while connected to FXCM.
This connection type does not support this type of instrument.
Please send an email to platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com so that we may assist you with installing NinjaTrader 7.

Hello fibobo,
FXCM supports forex but does not support futures, equities, or indexes.
This is listed on the help guide page I have linked in my prior post.
If another trader is connecting to FXCM and is opening charts with futures or indexes and data is showing on the chart, this is cached data that was downloaded from a different provider.
(After historical data is downloaded from a provider, it is cached and can be loaded even when not connected to any feed or connected to a feed that does not support the instrument type)

Hello fibobo,
Below is a publicly available link to the NinjaTrader 8 help guide on Data by provider which shows the supported connection technologies and the types of data these connections support.
The Instruments Supported column will show if the connection supports futures (F), equities (E), forex (FX), or indexes (I).
Which connection type are you connecting to for data?
What instrument type and what symbol (and expiry if applicable) are you trying to load on the chart?
