    NT8 upgrade from prior version

    Hi,
I'm currently using NT8 v8.0.17.2 and would like to upgrade to the latest version 8.0.18.1
I don't want to reinstall all of my imported indicators and workspace.
Is there an easy way to update it?
Can I just close NT8 and download the latest version and install it (over-ride)?

    Thank you

NT8 allows overide on Upgrade install but the dataFeed connection is needed which is only available on live trading days. Ensure files are backedup first before attempt.

      Thanks Emma1,

You mean live data (green light on the control panel) should be connected before installing the latest version of NT8? and since market is close, I should wait until it opens again on Sunday?

yes, it will be better to wait and use live data once trading begins.

          Hello jjanguda,

          Thank you for your post.

That is correct, your custom files and workspaces will not be removed on update. You may update via the steps below.
          • First, copy your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
          • Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
          • Enter your license key and press Submit
          • Select 'NinjaTrader 8'
          • Select 'Download'
          • Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.

This is what is called a 'false positive'. Basically, often when an anti-virus program does not have enough information about another program, it will flag it as malicious. NinjaTrader is not malicious, so I would recommend that you add NinjaTrader to your anti-virus program's exceptions list. If you're unsure how to do this, please contact the support of the anti-virus program.
