Continuous contract doesn't work in NT8

In NT8, latest version, I enter "ES ##-##" as the chart symbol and nothing comes up. Blank chart.

Only certain data providers supply real-time and historical continuous data to NinjaTrader 8.

Who are you connected to? This is displayed in green on lower left corner of the Control Center window.

Yes, please point me to the correct data provider with continuous contract data OR

I am not clear on how to obtain this data either - - there are a lot of brokers and data providers listed, but there is not an obvious choice - - please point us to the continuous data (even if it requires a subscription).

okay, so let me know if I have this straight. You can use continuous contracts with Ninja Trader 8, but you can't get the data from Ninja trader or Continuum, etc. So for instance, if I purchase data from another source that is in continuous contract format compatible with ninja trader 8, then I will be able to open that and use it in Ninja Trader 8, Correct?

Yes. For example, if you selected Kinetick as your provider. You would have to use Kinetick as the Preferred Connection for real-time and historical Futures data. You can configure which connection will be used for each type of data under Tools<Options<Market Data<Preferred Connection
