    ChannelMA2 indicator Angle measurement

    Hi,

Is there some programming resource/line/script that would help to print the Angle between the two slopes at NT Indicator ChannelMA2 ? Or the Angle between each of the two slopes and a reference "X" axis? Those displays would be happening in real time.

    Thanks much,
    G

    Hello bouncetherubble,

I am unaware of anything that exists with specifically this type of description. This is very likely something that would need to be custom created and calculated based on the available data from the lines in question. This is also not likely something which would be easy given the math involved in calculating an angle between two lines in contrast to the chart panel and its flexible scale. You can likely do this however it would require that you first research the math involved in calculating the angle from points and also figuring out what points are going to be included in that calculation. If you are intending to do any projection that would additionally add complexity to the problem.

I look forward to being of further assistance.

Real angles on a chart are calculated as Rise/Run and will not match the visible indicator.

          Hi eDanny,

Can you expand your comment? I didn't understand what you meant....

          Thanks

I mean't that angles based on bars and ticks can be calculated by trig. but will not match what you see visually on the chart, because the chart automatically resizes everything and as a user, you can also manipulate the X/Y axis. The real angle will not change as it visually changes. To match the angles to visual angles you would need to square up the chart: https://www.integrity-traders.com/in..._category_id/3

              Hi eDanny

I was referring to the angles of the ChannelMA2 moving average and not the bars. The idea anyway is to define some bars behind as X axis and Price as Y axis and get an angle to be instantly plot in big digits at some corner of the screen, not try to guess any information by a new drawing plot at the chart.

About the website mentioned, I knew it already and seems super but, do you have IT_ChartSquare for NT8?

Just checked again and no NT8 version available...

              Thanks,
              G

Hi G, The angle of a moving average is calculated the same way. If 1 tick and one bar = 45 degrees, you can also check a moving average the same because it has price per bar. If a moving avg moves 1/2 tick from one bar to the next the angle would be 26.6 degrees. The IT_ChartSquare is converted to NT8 but not in the current store (only NT7 stuff there). If there is an NT8 equivalent the download link would be emailed to you.

                  Hi eDanny,

Would you know where to look for IT_ChartSquare for NT8?

Not sure what you mean by " ... If there is an NT8 equivalent the download link would be emailed to you."

                  Thanks,

NT8 versions of indicators that have been converted are stored in DropBox for now. A link to download it would be provided if you purchased the NT7 version and ask for the NT8 version.

                      Hi eDanny,

                      Suppose I had bought IT_ChartSquare.

Would I receive a link to download the NT8 version because it has already been converted?

                      Thanks

Hi G, now that I know you would want it for NT8, yes.
