Market replay speed - Workspaces

Hi,
Over time i'd noticedt max replay speed was slowing down from considerably fast to a measly 2mins per second which is 120x. As i was joyed at the release of the NT8 beta giving max setting i knew i had previously had better speeds. I tried less charts, removing data from the folder, but nothing worked. It was almost faster at times on the 1000x setting.

Finally i tried deleting all my workspaces. I'm now back up to an hour per second using 36% CPU, where as previously i was on 92% CPU for 1/30th the speed.

Can someone explain why this is? Am i saving ticks into my workspaces when i save them and i have replay data in the charts? Do i need to disconnect from replay and then save any indicator adjustments?

What version of NinjaTrader 8 are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 8.0.X.0)

Do you use the same workspace for replay and live data? Or do you have a workspace which is dedicated to each?

Can you describe in further detail the contents of your replay workspace? For example, does this workspace contain many windows/tabs all loading the same instrument? Or do you have many windows loading many instruments?

Do you notice any improvement in playback speed if you run NinjaTrader in safe mode? Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:

• Loading workspaces.
• Connecting on start-up.
• Loading custom assemblies.
• Getting instrument updates from the server.

To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:

• Exit NinjaTrader.
• Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
• Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the Control Center.
• You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.
• Restart NinjaTrader, connect to playback, test the behavior

If you were tobring the workspace forward, you could answer your own question.

Anyways, it's been that way for some time, if not always. Close all unused workspaces.

Beta 6 was the fastest but had a lot of bugs. Beta 9 destroyed performance, or was it beta10.
