Error downloading historical data with Kinetick

    Hey NinjaTrader,

I've started testing NT8 after using NT7 for quite a while now.

I have a weird behaivor when trying to download historical data with kinetick.

I've selected the default s&p instrumnet list for download and tried downloading tick data starting February 26th till today.

Immediately countless message boxes poped up saying:

Error on requesting bars series: 'Error on loading historical data for instrument 'ADSK': '20018' '

For all the instruments on that list.

I understand that the 20018 error code is from kinetick for too many connections, this issue has been brought up in the past:

Unlike the above link, my issue is 100% reproducable and it isn't random at all.
In fact, I've tried different duration to load (date wise) and with different instrument list, pretty much happens with any instrument list.

Tried restarting Ninja and my PC, as well as a dns flush from the CMD.

Windows Resource Monitor seems reasonable regarding number of TCP connections.

    Help greatly appreciated.

    Hello ahadari28,

    Thank you for your note.

Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to an email to platformsupport[AT]ninjatrader[DOT]com with "ATTN CHRIS S 2254999" in the subject line so I may investigate this matter further.
    • Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
    • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
    • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
    • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
I look forward to your reply.

        Hello ahadari28,

For future reference to anyone else experiencing this particular error code, this occurs when a connection is making 15+ concurrent historical data requests at a time. The Kinetick historical data server has a limit of 15 concurrent requests.

To keep this from occurring, I would advise you to request less historical data concurrently. Once a data request is done processing, it's no longer considered a concurrent request, and another request can be made without the error occurring.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.
