Offset price by a few ticks!

    Hi,
I trade CFDs using futures data for analysis.

For example, I trade the GER30 based on the FDAX charts. There is always a difference of 2 to 5 points difference between the two instruments, this can go up or down as the front month progresses.

Question: Is there any way to offset the either the GER30 or the FDAX price on the charts, so that they are visually similar as opposed to being off by a few ticks?

I do understand that there will always be a difference in the two instruments, its just that if one knows the difference in price and is able to offset it, its visually easier to compare.

    Thanks

    Hello SuperDriveGuy,

    Thank you for your post.

Glad to assist. A real-time tick filtering can be setup via Tools > Options > Market Data > Realtime > "Filter bad ticks" options.

See the below section of our help guide for more on tick filtering.

      Hi Eric,
Thanks for your response BUT I am not looking for tick filtering but offsetting the price of an instrument by a particular value, say 10 ticks

      Thanks,
      SDG

        Thank you your reply.

I see, unfortunately there is not a method to set an offset to the current price in this manner.

          Hi Eric,
I think maybe if I present the question in a different way...

I see that are ways to display a spread between 2 instruments, say instead of wanting to display the net difference(spread), I wanted to display instrument1+spread. Is there a way to achieve this?
          Thanks,

            Thanks,
You could create a simple indicator that takes the close price and offsets it by your desired amount. Then apply said indicator to chart (would be a line style, not candle stick) and set the underlying instrument data series plot to Transparent.
