Cannot clear any Charts "4 hour gap" after not logging off NT8

    Hi,

I am looking for advice on a simple but persistent issue. For the first time, I forgot to logoff NT8 before putting the laptop to sleep. After powering it up again, I cannot catch up to some 4 hours from last night- a Gap. The chart data now starts at the time I powered up the laptop , plus shows the data ending exact 4 hours before that time. The time in between is not shown. I have restarted NT8 completely ( no effect), then I reloaded "al historical data" on that chart ( no effect), restarted NT8 from the right-click options at the chart (no effect) and all the charts in this workspace have this problem. So I changed to another saved workspace with different charts and I also have the same problem. Gone back to initial workspace and started a complete New chart from a blank template and same scenario happens.

If the gap was not starting at the exact same time I powered up the laptop I'd be inclined to believe this was due to lack of data from FXCM, but I believe that's not the case. So I ran out of options, but to restart the laptop which is the last thing I can do before reinstalling NT8, which would be an overkill for the problem shown; however, having a problem such as this in my face is concerning because it may be a trace that something else is wrong.

Would someone have a suggestion for a procedure to clear this?

    Many Thanks indeed,
    G

    Hello bouncethrubble,

    Thank you for your post.

In this instance I would recommend clearing your local cache of the downloaded data.

To delete the cache, follow the steps below.
    • Shut down NinjaTrader.
    • Open the Documents > NinjaTrader 8 > db folder.
    • Delete the sub-folder named 'cache'.
    • Restart NinjaTrader and test.
Please note that NinjaTrader is not currently compatible with Hibernate or Sleep modes as they interrupt processes and data that NinjaTrader needs to function. We always recommend closing the NinjaTrader platform before putting your computer to sleep.

Please let us know if we may be of further assistance.
