    Entry functions don't close opposites

    Hi, thanks for your time.

    I have this problem, which, i didn't have a couple of days ago..



    A few key points to keep in mind:
    • Entry() methods will reverse the position automatically. For example if you are in a 1 contract long position and now call EnterShort() -> you will see 2 executions, one to close the prior long position and the other to get you into the desired 1 contract short position.
    EnterShort and EnterLong used to close the opposite position if it was any. Now that doesn't happen (no idea why it changed), and output errors...

    27/04/2018 3:50:35 PM Default Strategy 'Ruelle/135217249' submitted an order that generated the following error 'Unable to submit order'. Strategy has sent cancel requests, attempted to close the position and terminated itself.

    Thanks for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader forums.

    The first error message indicators that your sim101 account does not have sufficient margin to place the needed orders which resulted in the 2nd error message.

    We advise that you reset the Simulation account to resolve this item.

    Resetting a simulation account will clear all historical trade data from this account. Please follow the instructions below to reset a simulation account.

    From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the Accounts tab
    Right click on your simulation account and select 'Edit Account'
    Press the "Reset" button

      I increased the amount of the account to 1m

      I did it before this thread, i did it again just in case, and then i did it several times.
      I even use the "Reload NinjaScript" and "Reload Alll Historical Data".

      It keeps happening
      Is there any option that could "compromise" this behaviour?

        Thanks for your reply.

        Please send an e-mail to PlatforumSupport[at]NinjaTrader.com mark the e-mail subject line atten:Paul and include a link to this thread. In addition please add your log and trace files to the e-mail:

        Open your NinjaTrader folder under My Documents.
        Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
        Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to the email.
        Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

          hum? did something wrong?

          BTW.: it seems that if you don't have the double of your Intraday Margin, it just send the errors.. then i had to change the "Bars required to trade" to 1... because sometimes in the middle of nowhere that error happens
          But i can't execute a strategy with $900 on an Instruments that requires $500 on Intraday Margin..

            Thanks for your reply.

            I had a typo in our e-mail address. (Platforum instead of Platform) If you are still in need of assistance, please send your files to PlatformSupport[at]NinjaTrader[dot]com.

            We specify [at] and [dot] to prevent the "bots" from scraping e-mail addresses from the forum posts and even though it was an incorrect address we still removed the e-mail address you copy/pasted.

              Oh, thanks, i forgot about removing emails.
              Yes, i will send you the data because otherwise i would have to start with a deposit bigger than $1k just because for technical problem :/
