^SP500 and other indexes, data errors from Kinetick

    ^SP500 and other indexes, data errors from Kinetick

    When I load a daily chart of ^SP500, ^VIX, ^RUT, or ^VIX, no matter how many days (I've tried 1-10 years), I get an error message, for example on ^SP500

    Error on requesting bars series: "Error on loading historical data for instrument '^SP500': '2013'"

    The chart does show with data loaded though, so I don't know why this is failing.

    Attached are screenshot examples.

    I don't get this error with any stocks or futures.

    I also get this error when I try to download historical data on these symbols from the Historical Data screen

    I did a "Repair Database" and restarted NT8 but that didn't help.

    Data source: Kinetick (paid version)
    Ninjatrader version: 8.0.18.0

    Are you getting the full amount of requested data?

    Does this also occur when loading 5 days of historical data or a minute chart with 5 days?

      If I try to bring up a 5min chart of ^SP500 of the last 5 days I get the error, then a blank chart

        Hello shodson,

        I did some testing with Kinetick and I am finding the historical data is available.

        I would like you to reset instruments.

        Tools -> Database Management -> Update instruments section
        Check Future expiries, check Remove user added instruments -> click the Update button to the right.

        If this does not correct the error, I'd like for a member of our support to call and assist to check the instrument settings.

          I did that, restarted NT, reconnected to Kinetick, still having a problem. I will email platform support...

            Is it possible I don't have the right data subscriptions? I have some historical data, up to March of this year, I just can't get anything after that. See the screen shot of my last Kinetick receipt, which summarizes my subscriptions.

              Hello shodson,

              I don't think you have a subscription to this index. Contact Kinetick to ensure you are subscribed to the correct items to get index data for ^SP500.

              That said, even if you don't have a subscription, I would still expect the historical data to load.

              Just the base price without subscribing to specific exchanges should come with historical data for all instruments (even those that are not subscribed).
