Alert Question

Hello All:

I want to create an alert for a moving average crossover of another moving average. I want it to alert on a daily and 4 hour basis no matter what time frame the chart is on. Am I correct in assuming that if I use Data Series EURUSD (Daily) and Data Series EURUSD (240 minute) for both alerts that this will work?

Thank you for your post.

Glad to assist. Alerts are able to be set to rearm on a timer and on indicator crossover.

To confirm, are you wanting to be able to switch the chart from 240-minute to another interval and still keep the alert?

When changing the chart time frame, this would also change the Data Series alert conditions set on the chart and the indicator values. To get around this, I suggest creating a secondary chart or chart tab for the alerts.

Hi Eric,

So if I go from a daily chart to a 60 min chart then the alert will change from daily to 60 min correct?

Perhaps for a future enhancement we could have the option of the alert being independent from the actual chart time frame.
