    volume totals

Is there a way I can keep track of the total volume of different instruments for the Globex sessions and current sessions? (Not just a graph....but the actual total number of contracts traded)
Also, is there a way to compare current volume and closed session volumes with their average volumes?

    Hello StevenNelson,

    Thank you for your post.

You could certainly write an indicator that would do this using NinjaScript. There may also be a third party add-on that would do this for you, or you may want to take a look at the Market Analyzer, as you can add indicators as columns and see data for a number of instruments at once using that.

You may want to start with our NinjaTrader Ecosystem website. There you will find a number of add-ons, indicators, and strategies created by our users and staff. Should you find anything that may assist you, here is a basic guideline of how to import NinjaScript add-ons in NinjaTrader 8:

Note — To import NinjaScripts you will need the original .zip file.

    To Import:
    1. Download the NinjaScripts to your desktop, keep them in the compressed .zip file.
    2. From the Control Center window select the menu Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-on...
    3. Select the downloaded .zip file
    4. NinjaTrader will then confirm if the import has been successful.

Critical - Specifically for some NinjaScripts, it will prompt that you are running newer versions of @SMA, @EMA, etc. and ask if you want to replace, press 'No'

Once installed, you may add the indicator to a chart by:
    • Right click your chart > Indicators... > Select the Indicator from the 'Available' list on the left > Add > OK
I also suggest checking out the Market Analyzer window to see if it may offer the features you wish. To open a new market analyzer, see the directions below:

Navigate to Control Center > New > Market Analyzer. The Market Analyzer window will open.
Right click within the Market Analyzer window, hover over add instruments, and select an instrument you would like to add. If all the stocks in your stock list are in an existing Instrument List, you may select all of them by hovering over the name of the Instrument List and clicking "Select All". The selected instrument or instruments will be added to the Market Analyzer window.

Please make sure to save your workspace before exiting NinjaTrader, or the instruments you added will not be saved.

Here are some links to further information regarding the Market Analyzer window:

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
