    FXCM Chart Data not Updating Past Initial Load

    I am moving from NT 7 to NT 8. My FXCM data feed works fine in NT 7. In NT 8 the chart data will load but then does not update to show price changes.

    I have read the forums and have tries resetting the database and the instruments but that has not helped.

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Thank you for your note.

    Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to an email to platformsupport[AT]ninjatrader[DOT]com with "ATTN CHRIS S" in the subject line so I may investigate this matter further.

    * Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
    * Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
    * Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
    * Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

        I just did as requested and nothing changed - the chart loaded and there is data up to one minute ago but no live data going forward. Any other suggestions?
        I attached the email I received below:


        Thank you for your note.

        Please rename the database file to clear your database. Also delete your cache folder to ensure the platform is reloading fresh data.

        To delete the cache, follow the steps below.
        Close NinjaTrader
        Open the Documents folder in a file explorer
        NinjaTrader 8
        Open the db folder
        Delete the contents of the cache, day, minute and tick folders

        This initial load may take a little longer than normal since all new data is being loaded from the historical data servers.

        Please rename your database with the following steps :
        Shutdown NinjaTrader and Go to the Start Menu
        Select My Documents--> NinjaTrader 8--> DB--> NinjaTrader.SDF.
        Right click on NinjaTrader.SDF and select "Rename." *Name it "OLDNinjaTrader.SDF."
        Then restart the software and NinjaTrader will create a fresh database file to use
        Unfortunately the following items stored in the old database will be lost - Session templates, Instrument Lists / Custom Instruments, historical trade execution data, saved Strategy Analyzer backtest results
        To prevent running into situations where you can potentially lose important data, we advise to run regular backups via our inbuild backup feature in NinjaTrader - http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...up_archive.htm

          I had this problem before... and still have it sometimes

          it was due to having multiple connections.

          Sometimes the futures connection should be loaded first (or else the futures chart and dom might have this same problem), sometimes the FXCM one.. sometimes you have to restart NT.

          My suggestion.. Restart NT

          and connect only to FXCM

          if it still doesn't work then it is some other problem
