    Historical Market Replay slow one 1 PC but fast on another one

    Hello,

    I have laptop - and historical market replay on continuous instruments there runs about 5 minutes of data per 1 second of real time.

    On my desktop - same data runs about 2-3 hours per 1 second.

    Any idea why it runs that slow on my laptop?

    My laptop has processor I-7 (so does my desktop) and 12 GB or RAM...

    Do I need to re-install NinjaTrader on laptop, or reset database to "Make it go faster", or why is there such a difference? Any tips/settings I should change to historical tick replay to go faster?

    Hello music_p13,

    Different hardware configurations are going to be able to process different amounts of work.

    Not all i7 CPUs are the same.

    Are you testing with all workspaces closed in a new blank workspace with no charts?
    (It may be that one computer has more workspaces or data in the workspace to process)

      When running with 1 empty workspace and no charts - speed approximately 10 minutes per second. CPU usage by Ninja is around 40% - the rest of processes don't take much of CPU.

        Is the Disk usage high?

        Are you testing the exact same day of data?

          Thanks for help, however, solution was to re-install NT8.

          Step 1 - rename existing NinjaTrader 8 folder in My Documents
          Step 2 - uninstall NT8
          Step 3 - install NT8
          Step 4 - verify replay data works fast now with freshly re-installed NT8 with brand new folder in My Documents
          Step 5 - Close NT8, - rename the new NinjaTrader 8 document, and move back the original folder from step 1.
          Step 6 - Start NT8 and try replay again - now it runs about 1 hr per second on Volumetric Data (probably faster on other chart)...

          So issue is solved by re-installing NT8 (haven't done it for long time, always was just upgrading NT8 - so clean install helps...).
